I am a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in health psychology. I have a true passion for working with clients to improve their physical and mental health. After completing my undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Michigan, I completed my Ph.D. training at the University of Florida and internship and fellowship at the Palo Alto VA Health Care System. I have extensive experience working as the psychologist on multidisciplinary health care teams and bring the knowledge I have gained from other health care professionals to my work in private practice. I am also happy to coordinate with medical professionals that may already be involved in your care to develop therapy treatment plans that complement medical treatments. I particularly enjoy working with clients with the following issues:
-Chronic medical illnesses causing or impacted by anxiety or depression
-The experience of terminal illness, including end of life issues, grief, and caregiver stress
-Stress and the impact of stress on health
-Improving sexual functioning or physical intimacy
-Diet, exercise, and weight loss
I provide therapy from cognitive behavioral (CBT), acceptance and commitment (ACT) and integrative frameworks and stay connected with emerging psychological research. While training and background is important in choosing a therapist, I believe that "fit" between therapist and client is often the most important part of therapy. Thus, I'm happy to provide telephone consultations to start the process of finding out I'm a good fit for your therapy goals. You can check out my website at www.drstacydodd.com and contact me by phone at 650-206-8187. I look forward to talking to you.
